Two-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings and inaugural edition winners Rajasthan Royals along with their owners, Gurunath Meiyappan, and Raj Kundra have been suspended for a period of 2 years by Justice RM Lodha, who said the decision, will uphold the paramountcy of the game.
This suspension was given, for their alleged involvement in the IPL 2013 corruption scandal.
The Lodha committee was appointed on January 22nd by the Supreme Court to decide on the punishment for Kundra, Meiyappan and their franchises.
Kundra and Meiyappan had been found guilty of betting by the Supreme Court. The committee had been given six months to pronounce its decision.
