Amit Mishra finished with four wickets as India sliced through Sri Lanka's lower order to bowl them out for 306.

India picked up the last three Sri Lankan wickets in five overs after tea to gain a first-innings lead of 87.

 Sri Lanka lost their last seven wickets for 65 runs, after a century stand between Angelo Mathews and Lahiru Thirimanne had ensured a wicket less first session.
