Chandika Hathurusinghe, Coach of the Bangladesh team says that he has not yet received an official inquiry by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board regarding the post of Coach of the Sri Lankan team.
Mawan Atapattu the chief coach of the SL team resigned on the 3rd, Sept and Jerome Jayaratne was appointed as the interim coach.
However measures will be taken in future to appoint a professional coach for the SL team. In this case attention was drawn towards Chandika Hathurusinghe who led the Bangladeshi team to victory.
After Chandika Hathurusinghe’s acceptance of the post in May last year the Bangladeshi team was able to win the first full test tournament as well as the one-day matches against Pakistan, India and South Africa.
Expressing his views to sports media he said that it is the dream of every coach to be the coach of the national team of one’s own country. Yet, he says, it will take place in due course of time.
