The West Indies cricket team led by Jason Holder arrived at Hotel Taj Samudra in Colombo on Thursday for a 44-day tour which comprises two Tests, three One-Day Internationals and two T20 Internationals.
5 players of the West Indies pool arrived in Sri Lanka on last 30th and the other players and officers including the new captain Jason Holder arrived last afternoon (02nd). After the suspension of chief coach Phil Simmons former West Indies fast bowler Eldine Baptiste, who is also a national selector, will take up the position of interim coach for the tour of Sri Lanka. The series, which begins on October 14, is the new Test captain Jason Holder's first assignment.
West Indies open their tour on October 8 with a three-day practice match against a Sri Lanka Board President’s XI at the SSC before moving to the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle from October 14.
