Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 8 wickets in the 3rd One Day International at Nelson New Zealand today.
New Zealand, who chose to bat scored 276 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
None of the New Zealand players were able to score even half a century while Tom Lahtam being the highest scorer for the Kiwis, secured 42 runs.
Jeffrey Vandersay, Nuwan Pradeep and Dhushmantha Chameera took 2 wickets each, while Milinda Siriwardana chipped in one wicket for the Lankans.
Thilakaratna Dilshan and Lahiru Thirimanne both secured a firm partnership with 91 and 87 runs respectively.
However, the most striking performance was by Danushka Gunathilaka who was also adjudged the player of the match.
He scored 65 runs in just 45 deliveries, smashing 7 fours and 4 sixes.
