Sri Lanka’s speed merchant Lasith Malinga could find himself in trouble with SLC officials set to obtain medical opinion on the player’s injury before giving him official clearance to play in the IPL.
Malinga pulled out of the World T 20 tournament citing a recurring bone-bruise to his left knee. However the player has made himself available to play for Mumbai Indian in the cash-rich IPL.
SLC has also initiated an inquiry against Malinga for making public statements without the permission of the cricket board.
Malinga was picked to represent Sri Lanka at the World T20 tournament despite nursing the injury.
He found fault with the national selectors for picking him for the T20 World Cup despite carrying the injury.
