A rapid 42 from Brendon McCullum set up a winning run-chase for the Gujarat Lions in the IPL overnight (NZT).
The former Black Caps skipper blasted 42 off only 24 balls as the Lions chased down the 180-2 made by the Royal Challengers Bangalore with six wickets and three balls remaining.
McCullum opened Gujarat's innings and ensured they set after the target at a rapid rate.
He slammed two sixes and five fours as he and opening partner Dwayne Smith put on 47 for the first wicket in just 5.2 overs.
When McCullum fell in the ninth over, the Lions were 87-2 and Dinesh Karthik was able to guide them home with an unbeaten 50 from 39 deliveries.
Earlier, Virat Kohli produced a batting master-class to make an unbeaten 100 off only 63 balls at the top of the order for Bangalore.
