Australian Test batsman Adam Voges was rushed to hospital on Sunday night (AEST), after being struck in the head by a stray throw while fielding for Middlesex in his side’s County Championship fixture.
The Middlesex skipper was hit in the back of the head after a stray Ollie Rayner throw missed the keeper, after a boundary at the Rose Bowl.
Voges collapsed after the strike, and was taken from the field under the aid of the club’s medical staff.
The 36-year-old is unlikely to participate in the match any further.
Australia batsman and former limited-overs captain George Bailey will join Middlesex at the end of next month, the English county announced on Tuesday.
