Five balls into the second innings of the Indian Premier League match between the Rising Pune Supergiants and the Delhi Daredevils, the players were joined by an uninvited guest.
A dog ran onto the field and sat down next to Delhi fielder Rishabh Pant, who tried to shoo it away without any success.
His team-mate Chris Morris then tried to escort it off the field, but when members of the ground staff came running towards them, the dog took off.
That led to Nathan Coulter-Nile, the Australian fast bowler, trying to play matador, waving a blue towel as it ran past.
Finally, the dog decided it had had enough, taking up a spot next to Delhi's dugout to watch the rest of the game.
Unfortunately for the dog - and Delhi - the game turned out to be a damp squib, with rain settling in midway through Pune's innings, handing them a 19-run win using the Duckworth Lewis Method.
