Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former Kent wicket-keeper batsman Simon Willis as the SLC high performance manager.

The appointment comes after Sri Lanka’s disappointing innings loss to England in the opening test in Headingly on Friday.

According to SLC sources, Mr. Willis will be contracted from the 1st of June and head the National Cricket Academy.

This will be the second high profile coaching appointment in the national setup after the new board was elected in January this year.

In February, Former head coach Graham Ford was reappointed as the national coach on a 45 month contract.
