Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum apologized to Sri Lanka's bowling legend Muttiah Muralitharan for running him out during a play in 2006 in Christchurch.
Delivering the MCC Spirit of Cricket lecture at Lord's on Monday McCullum said there are many things he would change if he could.
McCullum said during his career as a wicketkeeper batsman he became increasingly competitive and winning was everything and "didn't really care what it took to win."
An example was running out Sri Lanka's spin great Muralitharan although the call was within the laws of the game but not in the spirit.
