Rugby Ban On Dharmaraja, Trinity And Carey Colleges

The Education Ministry has imposed match ban on the ruby teams of Dharmaraja College, Trinity College in Kandy and Carey College, Colombo following a clash that erupted during the School Rugby Series.

According to the communiqué issued by the Education Ministry, Kandy Dharmaraja rugby team has been suspended for nine months leading to a two year probation.

The clash erupted during the rugby match played between Kandy Dharmaraja College and St. Joseph College Colombo at the Bogambara sports grounds on June 18th.

At the same time, Kandy Trinity College team has been suspended for six months following a clash erupted during Bradby series, which they played against Royal College Colombo recently.

Meanwhile, Colombo Carey College team has also been suspended for six months leading to a two year probation following a clash erupted during a match they played against Padukka Piyarathana Vidyalaya.
