Australian pacer Shaun Tait has announced his retirement from cricket at the age of 34.

He is considered the third best fast bowler in the history. His fastest ball was against England at Lords at 161.1kph (100.1 mph) in 2010.

Tait, whose last appearance for Australia came in a T20 international against India in Sydney early last year - after a call-up to international cricket after five years - played three Tests, 35 ODIs and 21 T20Is for Australia.

Tait married Indian model Mashoom Singha in 2014 after dating since 2010.

It is reported that he has now become an Overseas Citizen of India.
