Galle to host ODI cricket after 17 years

One Day International cricket will return to Galle International Cricket Stadium after 17 years with the start of the Zimbabwe tour of Sri Lanka today.

After completing their series’ in Scotland and Netherland, Zimbabwe team led by leg-spinner Greame Cremer will play their first ODI against number 8 ranked, Sri Lanka today at Galle Stadium followed by the second game after two days at the same venue.

Teams will then travel to Hambanthota to play the remaining three ODIs to complete the five-match series before travelling back to R. Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo to play the only Test match.
