The third one-day Sri Lanka – Zimbabwe cricket match will take place on Thursday at Suriyawewa International stadium in Hambantota.

Todays and tomorrows one-day matches have been re-scheduled to take place at the same stadium on 8th and 10thof july.

International matches are held rarely at the Suriyawewa stadium for various reasons including distance.

The stadium is situated in close proximity to a reservation populated by wild elephants.

As a result, an operation has been launched to prevent wild elephants from entering the stadium, especially from Meegahapandura and Nuga-vela-yaaya.

Reports state that a special squad has also been appointed for this purpose.

Staff from the Hambantota Wildlife Office said that it would become necessary to prepare a temporary road way as part of this operation.
