Sri Lanka suffered a massive blow during the second Test against India as a hamstring injury ended seamer Nuwan Pradeep's participation in the game.

Initial prognosis of the injury suggests that the seamer is set to be ruled out of action for up to 2 months, thereby ruling him out of the ongoing series.

Sri Lanka took a big gamble to play just one paceman in the second Test and with Pradeep ruled out and former captain Angelo Mathews not fit to bowl, they have to rely heavily on the part-time option of Dimuth Karunaratne.

Sri Lanka lost the services of all-rounder Asela Gunaratne in the first Test after he fractured his left thumb while attempting a catch.
