Cricket stakeholders invited for a National Convention

A special Committee appointed by the Sports Minister to study and report to him, the reasons for the present cricket crisis, has convened a National Convention.

The Convention will be held at Battaramulla on the 15th of this month.

The special Committee, headed by Milton Amarasinghe, Advisor to the Minister of Sports, also includes, Prof. Ranjith Bandara and Dr. Lakshman Edirisinghe, Director General of Institute of Sports Medicine.

The former national cricket captains, selectors, coaches, Board chairmen, Interim-committee members and other stakeholders are invited to attend the scheduled Convention.

Thereafter, the special Committee will hand over their report to the Sports Minister, which will contain recommendations to revive the country's cricket.

Amarasinghe also said that the general public and any other cricket enthusiast can submit their views to revive cricket before the 10th of this month to the National Sports Council.
