Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera says that a separate inquiry will be conducted over the incident that led Sri Lanka Cricket to impose a ban on a group of Sri Lanka first-class cricketers including Chamara Silva.

They were imposed bans by a special committee appointed by Sri Lanka Cricket to look into a Tier B Premier League Match between Panadura and Kalutara Cricket Clubs in January this year.

Chamara Silva who was the captain of Panadura has been banned from cricket related activities for two years.

However, a number of present cricketers, as well as past cricketers, say Chamara is an honest cricketer and it is unfair to punish him.
