Committee appointed to revive Sri Lanka cricket meets

The first meeting to discuss a report prepared following a conference held in Colombo last month will be convened today (03).

The meeting will be held at the Sports Ministry.

The Sports Minister appointed a special Committee to implement the recommendations came out from the report to revive and restructure Sri Lanka cricket.

The Committee, headed by a respected corporate leader, Hemaka Amarasuriya includes Anura Tennakoon, Aravinda de Silva, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena.

The Director-General of Institute of Sports Medicine, Dr Lakshman Edirisinghe is also in the Committee.

The conference that was held in Battaramulla, last month was not opened for the media.

Sri Lanka fast bowler, Lasith Malinga also spoke at the conference and he accused both the officials and the players for the present decline of cricket.
