Sri Lanka opener, Dhanuska Gunathilaka has submitted an appeal against the suspension imposed on him by Sri Lanka Cricket.

Last Thursday (04), the SLC announced Gunathilaka would be suspended from International Cricket for six matches for misconduct and breach of contract during the recent series against India.

Gunathilaka was also fined 20% of his applicable annual contract fee for violations.

The suspension was effective from 30th September 2017.

He was accused of indecent behaviour, attending parties during the series, consumption of liquor, late attendance for matches and lack of interest in physical fitness.

26-year-old Gunathilaka, who is a product of Mahanama College, Colombo has so far played 1 Test, 28 ODI's and 5 T/20's for Sri Lanka.

He has scored 886 runs in ODI's with one century and 7 fifties.

He made his Test debut during the recent series against India.
