SL cricket team’s support staff to skip Pakistan T/20s

Hashan assigned as Head Coach…

Upcoming Sri Lanka Pakistan T20 series is making news every day.

This time, after interim coach Nic Pothas pulled out from the series, the authorities have decided to assign batting coach Hashan Tillakaratne to fulfill the duty of Head Coach.

The decision has been taken yesterday (22) after Sri Lanka interim coach Nic Pothas has decided to skip T20 series and has decided to return to Sri Lanka after the fifth ODI.

Pothas made it clear that though he is committed to Sri Lanka Cricket, he took the decision as his family was not happy about him touring Pakistan.

Along with Pothas Sri Lanka Team's trainer, Nic Lee and Physiotherapist Nirmalan Thanabalasingham have also decided to skip t20 series against Pakistan.

Like Pothas, they also had reservations about playing the third T20I at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

Pothas had been appointed the interim coach after the Champions Trophy when Graham Ford stepped down.

During Pothas tenure, Sri Lanka now has lost 11th consecutive ODIs, worst in their playing history, after 1987-88.

Sri Lanka will play three T20 matches. The first two matches are scheduled to be played on 26th and 27th October.
