Sri Lankan cricketers were heavily inconvenienced during the 3rd Test in Delhi due to air pollution.

However, President of Sri Lanka Cricket was not brave enough to express displeasure over the incident to the Indian Cricket authorities.

Sri Lanka Cricket and its President even hesitated to apologize to the group of cricketers who were forced to turn back at the airport due to their irresponsibility.

However, Sri Lanka Cricket which had failed in its responsibility to talk on behalf of the players has all of a sudden come to life after the Team recorded a fighting draw in the 3rd Test.

In the meantime, the President of Sri Lanka Cricket also vowed to take Sri Lanka Cricket to a higher level.

However, it is a question as to how Sri Lanka Cricket President’s statement cited that Sri Lanka had won the Test series against Pakistan 3 – nil while there were only 2 matches.

Also, the Sinhala media communiqué issued by Sri Lanka Cricket said that Sri Lanka has 96 ranking points in ICC Test ranking and is behind England by just 1 point.

However, according to the English communique, Sri Lanka is behind New Zealand and Australia by 1 point.

However, the Official ICC Rankings show that Sri Lanka has 94 points and is 11 points behind England.

Also the Sri Lanka Cricket President’s statement said that Suranga Lakmal recorded a hat-trick while only Nuwan Zoysa and Rangana Herath have recorded Test hat-tric
.
It also says that Lakmal bowled 48 dot balls during the 1st Test and if so the 4 scored by Ajinkya Rahane off the 5th ball of the 8th over will have to be erased.

These statements of Sri Lanka Cricket President is issued to the media by a team comprising more than 6 members earning high salaries.
It is also disappointing to see how cricket authorities are trying to ride on the success of the cricketers.
