The 2nd one-day international between India and Sri Lanka will start this afternoon in Mohali. It will be a historic occasion for Sri Lanka.

If they were able to win the game it will be their first bilateral series win against India since 1997. It will also be their first series win against India in India in any format.

A loss will bring an end to India's run of 7 consecutive bilateral series victories. Their last loss came in Australia in January 2016 when they lost 1-4.

After putting an end to their 12-match losing streak with a performance as commanding as in Dharamsala, the tourists are unlikely to make any changes to the winning combination.

However, as Lahiru Thirimanne's dismal batting continues, the team management might consider bringing in Kusal Janith Perera as a big hitting option.

Dhanajaya de Silva remains unavailable for the second game in the row owing to his hamstring injury.

Probable teams:

Sri Lanka:
Upul Tharanga, Danushka Gunathilaka, Lahiru Thirimanne, Angelo Mathews, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Asela Gunaratne, Thisara Perera (c), Sachith Pathirana/Dushmantha Chameera, Akila Dhananjaya, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Pradeep

India:
Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni (wk), Kuldeep Yadav/Yuvzvendra Chahal, Siddarth Kaul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah.
