Sri Lanka will depart to Bangladesh on 13th January to take part in a 1-month long tour.

Sri Lanka will play Tri-Nation ODI series, involving Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and a 2-match Test series with hosts.

Sri Lanka will also play 2-match T20 series with Bangladesh.

This will be the first international assignment for Chandika Hathurusinghe after he was appointed the Head Coach of the national team.

Meanwhile, in 2017, Sri Lanka played 57 international matches - 13 Tests, 29 ODI's and 13 T20I.

However, Sri Lanka was able to win only 14 matches.

Although, authorities are boasting about the development of cricket in Sri Lanka, in 2017 alone the national team recorded loses in 7 Tests, 23 ODI's and 10 T20I's.

Sri Lanka also made 24 international debuts in 2017 and 7 captains were appointed to lead the side in 3 formats, Tests, ODI's and T20I's.

However, none of them was able to revive the game that is followed by the Sri Lankans like a religion.
