Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was awarded the Padma Bhushan award today (Apr. 02).

7 years ago, on a day like this, he led India to win the cricket World Cup beating Sri Lanka.

The Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in India.

In that final, batting first, Sri Lanka totalled 274 for 6 and in reply, India reached the target losing just 4 wickets.

Dhoni playing a captain's knock hit 98 not out.

With that India recorded their second World Cup final win.

They also won in 1983.
