South African pace-bowling sensation Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of IPL 2018 with a lower-back stress.

Rabada, retained by Delhi Daredevils using the Right to Match Card for INR 4.2 crores, felt tightness and discomfort during the Johannesburg Test of the recently-concluded Australia series.

Subsequent scans revealed the injury, which will sideline the 22-year-old for up to three months.

A replacement for Rabada will have to be approved by the IPL technical committee.

Delhi Daredevils already have Trent Boult in their fast-bowling group with Indian options in Mohammed Shami and Avesh Khan.

Chris Morris, Daniel Christian are other medium pace all-rounders in the squad.

The Daredevils open their quest for a maiden IPL title on 8th of April against Kings XI Punjab.
