Sri Lankan cricketer, Angelo Mathews has said that he would nconsider retiring from the One-day and T20 formats of the game if he is held solely responsible for Sri Lanka's performance at the Asia Cup tournament.

Mathews had stepped down from his captaincy and Dinesh Chandimal was appointed captain to all three formats of the game.

In a letter to Sri Lanka Cricket, Mathews said that he felt betrayed as he was held solely responsible for the losses daced at the Asia Cup.

"I have been made the scapegoat in this entire saga of Sri Lanka's dismal performance against Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the Asia Cup," Mathews said in his letter.
