Captain of the Sri Lanka ODI cricket team Lasith Malinga says that 'Batsmen still haven't understood the value of finishing a match'.

He made this statement after the visitors slumped to a 35-run defeat in the lone T20 International against New Zealand in Auckland yesterday.

Four batsmen in Sri Lanka's top five passed 15, but none went on to make a half-century, despite the fact that Sri Lanka were ahead of the required rate early in their innings.

Malinga said that taking into consideration the ground which they played on, 180 was a gettable target, and that players have to realise the situation, and capitalise and finish the game, though they still haven't understood how valuable finishing the match for the side is.
