Sri Lanka's stand-in skipper Dimuth Karunaratne heaped praise on his young squad, in scripting a historic series sweep in South Africa.

Sri Lanka won the second match by eight wickets yesterday, inside three days.

They are also the first sub-continental side to beat South Africa in a series at home since South Africa's re-admission.

However, the next challenge for the Lankans will be the 5 match ODI series against the Proteus, and the qualification for the upcoming world cup.

With a test match defeat, South Africa will be on their guard, and determine to win the ODI series against the Lankan's, as well as get themselves ready for the World cup, which will be held in a few months time.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan has created history by breaking the record for the highest T20 total of all time.

They smashed a jaw-dropping 278/3 against Ireland in the second T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun.
