The International Cricket Council (ICC) said that New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and Sri Lanka spinner Akila Dananjaya were reported for suspect bowling actions after the Test match in Galle.

Accordingly, the two cricketers must now undergo assessment within 14 days from the reporting date. During this time there is no obstacle for them to take part in international cricket matches.

Akila Dananjaya's bowling was also reported to the ICC previously and after remedial action he was able to participate in international matches.

Therefore, his bowling action has been reported for the second time.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand Cricket Board has announced that New Zealand's permanent captain Kane Williamson and Trent Boult will not be participating in the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka.

New Zealand has named a 14-man squad for the tournament, which begins on September 1.

The team is led by fast bowler Tim Southee.

The New Zealand squad for the upcoming Twenty20 in Sri Lanka has included three specialist spinners Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner and Todd Astle.
