A tense situation arose during the issuing of tickets for the Semi Final of the Twenty20 world cup between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
According to our news correspondent, a large number of fans had gathered at the Thurstan College grounds from early morning waiting for the issuing of tickets and that the police riot squad had also been deployed in case a tense situation arises.
Meanwhile, a large crowd had gathered at the P. D. Sirisena grounds at Maligawatta, following the reports of world cup tickets being issued there.
However no such issuing of tickets took place at the P. D. Sirisena grounds at Maligawatta.
The tickets manager of the Twenty20 world cup Kavindra Liyanage stated the admission of individuals to the Thurstan Grounds has concluded as of now for the sale of tickets.
