Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets in the 4th ODI in Hambantota yesterday to take an unassailable 3-0 lead and secure the 5 match series.

Dinesh Chandimal scored 43, Kumar Sangakkara was on 42 not out and Upul Tharanga made 27, as Sri Lanka achieved a rain-revised target of 131 off 32 overs with more than five overs to spare.

The opening match was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain.

Brendon McCullum, earlier top-scored for New Zealand, while leg-spinner Jeevan Mendis took 3 wickets for Sri Lanka.
