Resuming after tea Sri Lanka were 64 for 2 wickets in response to Australia’s total of 450 runs for 5 wickets.

Resuming at 299 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, Australia lost skipper Michael Clark for 74 runs.

Michael Hussey was unbeaten on 115 runs at the declaration accompanied by the Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade who was 68 not out with the duo putting on an unbeaten 146 run partnership.

Chanaka Welagedara picked up 3 wickets for 130 and was the pick of the Lankan bowling attack that lacked any real venom to trouble to Aussie batsmen.

Sri Lanka lost opener Dimuth Karunaratne and Kumar Sangakkara just after tea with Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle picking up the two wickets respectively.
