Former England cricket captain and veteran Channel 9 commentator Tony Greig has died aged 66.
Greig, who played a senior role in Kerry Packer’s World Series Cricket revolution and was a distinctive voice in cricket broadcasting, was diagnosed with lung cancer in October.
He did not join the Channel 9 commentary team this summer.
Greig who was born in South Africa, went on to captain the English cricket team.
He later moved to Australia and was a huge fan of Sri Lankan cricket as well as the country.
