Australian bowlers Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Johnson blew through the English batting line up to restrict the visitors to 179 runs in their second innings of the 4th Ashes test being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Australia ended the 3rd day at 30 for no loss, chasing 231 for victory with Chris Rogers and David Warner unbeaten on 18 and 12 runs respectively.

Earlier, Nathan Lyon took 5 wickets for 50 runs and Mitchell Johnson took 3 for 25 for Australia.

Alistair Cook top scored for England with 51 runs while Kevin Pietersen chipped in with 49 runs.

Australia currently hold an unassailable 3 – 0 lead in the 5 match series.
