England v Sri Lanka: Hosts hopeful over Alastair Cook injury
England are hopeful captain Alastair Cook will be fit for the third one-day international against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford today.
The 29-year-old missed Sunday's record 157-run defeat with a groin injury, but took part in light training and batted in the nets for an hour yesterday.
Although Cook was absent as England were bowled out for 99 on Sunday on the way to their heaviest home defeat in terms of runs, Anderson called on the senior players to "share the burden" of captaincy.
Eoin Morgan, who captained England at Chester-le-Street, will deputise once again if Cook does not recover.
