He reminiscences about the “pivotal role” that cricket has played in healing war wounds. Looking back on his own illustrious career, Sangakkara shares some of his highs and lows from being named the Number 1 test batsman in the world by the ICC to the violent attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore and the “devastating” losses to Australia and India in successive World Cup finals. Finally, he discusses the World Cup 2015 which he anticipates will be “huge” for Sri Lanka and his possible retirement plans.
