The Railway Department has announced that train services from Colombo Fort have been temporarily disrupted following a work stoppage by employees at the Dematagoda Yard.
The disruption is a result of workers halting duties in protest, citing inadequate efforts to locate a missing fellow employee.
As a consequence, passengers can expect potential train cancellations and delays affecting services from the Colombo Fort railway station. Deputy General Manager of the Railway Department, reported that the Podi Menike and Badulla Odyssey trains, which were scheduled to depart for Badulla this morning, have been unable to operate.
he also indicated that several other train journeys are likely to be canceled due to the ongoing situation.
