US assistant state secretary Nisha Biswal to visit the country next week

US Deputy Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Nisha Biswal, will arrive in Colombo next week, to hold discussions with the new government of President Maithripala Sirisena.

Biswal will be the first high profile US official to visit Colombo since the new President came to power early this month.

Biswal's arrival in Colombo will be her second visit to the Island in the past two years.
