Opposition Leader Nimal visits Tissa in Welikada Prison

The Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva visited MPs Tissa Attanayake and Premalal Jayasekera in Welikada prison today.

MPs W.D.J. Seneviratne, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Bandula Gunawardana and Lalith Dissanayake also joined the Opposition Leader to visit Welikada prison.

MP Tissa Attanayake who was arrested in connection with forgery was remanded till the 11th of this month by Colombo Fort Additional Magistrate Jayantha Nanayakkara yesterday.

Premalal Jayasekera was remanded in connection with the attack on a political campaign stage and the murder of a campaigner in Pelmadulla during the last presidential election.

After meeting the two MPs in remand, Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva told the media that the government should take responsible measures for the safety of the two MPs.
