67th National Independence Day falls tomorrow

The 67th National Independence Day will be held at the parliament grounds at Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte at 8 am tomorrow.

The Ministry of Public Administration stated that the necessary arrangements have been taken for the national ceremony.

The rituals by all religions have also been organized at places of worship in conjunction with the 67th Independence Day celebration from 6 in the morning.

Over 6’000 soldiers representing three armed forces, police, Civil Defence Force and the National Cadet Corp will participate in the National Independence Day March tomorrow.

Meanwhile police announced that all entry roads towards parliament will be kept closed from 6 to 11 in the morning.

Accordingly, Japan Friendship road from Kimbulawala junction to Keangnam Roundabout, Parliament road from Polduwa Junction to parliament, HNB roundabout to Keangnam roundabout, Densil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha, Pelawatta road from Pelawatta junction to Keangnam roundabout and all roads leading to Parliament sports grounds will be kept close.
