Former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardana was released on 150 thousand rupees cash bail and 60 million rupees personal bail when the corruption case against Gunawardana filed by the Commission to Investigate Bribery and Corruption was taken up for hearing.

Sarana Gunawardana was released today when the case in which Gunawardana was charged for corruption committed during his tenure as the Chairman of the Development Lotteries Board taken before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today.

The Bribery Commission has filed the case against Sarana Gunawardana on 107 public complaints received by the Commission.

The Case will be taken for hearing again on May 14th.
