The senior leaders of SLFP had a round of discussions today regarding the changes of office bears and the party constitution to be made tomorrow.

The discussion was presided by party chairman and President Maithreepala Sirisena at the SLFP headquarters at Darley Road.

After the discussion, SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said he would announce several breaking news tomorrow.

A Party deputy Secretary and MP Sarath Amunugama also expressed his views to the media after the discussion.

A former senior deputy chairman and former Prime Minister D.M. Jayarathna said the discussions were centered on how to push the party forward with the participation of the two former presidents.

The national organizer post of the party is currently vacant as its predecessor MP Basil Rajapaksa has informed his resignation to the party general secretary.

Recent media reports stated that minister Rajitha Senarathna has been picked to the job.

Meanwhile addressing a media conference held in Horana, former Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickramanayake’s son MP Vidura Wickramanayake said that he has also been invited to contend for the national organizer post.

MP Wickramanayake further said that only those who could adopt themselves to Bandaranaike ideologies should be appointed as SLFP office bearers at the executive meeting to be held tomorrow.

He further said that what SLFP require is not a national organizer but it needs a national leadership post.

The SLFP Executive Committee and the All Ceylon Working Committee meetings are scheduled to be held tomorrow at the Folk Art Center at Battaramulla.
