Wennappuwa quadruple murder: Watchman found dead

A watchman linked with Wennappuwa - Nainamadama quadruple murder case had found dead today (17) in a pit behind a coir factory. According to the Police, the 68-years-old watchman was a resident at Wennappuwa-Kiliyapitiya, Ethalawela area.

Wennappuwa quadruple murder suspect who was arrested in Galewela, on January 4, 2015, committed suicide by jumping into the Ma-Oya when the suspect was taken to recover the axe that he allegedly used to kill the victims.

Accordingly, the owners of the estate had deployed two other to look after the estate, accordingly the victim was a Watchman which had been assigned. The co-worker of the victim stated that the deceased Watchman used to engage in fishing activities in a pit behind a coir factory.

On 1st of January, 2015, the bodies of four members of the same family, including two children, have been found dumped in a pit near their house in Lunuwila, Wennappuwa.

The deceased are a female Doctor attached to Lunuwila Hospital, her husband and their two children, a boy aged about 15-years and a girl of about 13-years, according to the Police.
