Do not give into pressure; President tells CEA officials

President Maitripala Sirisena requested the relevant officials not to give in to any pressure when implementing environment preservation laws.

As subject Minister the President participated in an observation tour of the Central Environment Authority in Battaramulla yesterday to look into the Central Environment Authority activities.

On this occasion instructing the CEA officials, the President said that it was everyone’s responsibility to protect the environment with dedication without caring for advantages.

Meanwhile President Maitripala Sirisena also participated in the Mahveli Development Authority monthly progress reviewing meeting.

Presidential Media Division said that, as Mahaveli Development and Environment Minister, the President had decided to inquire about their progress once a month.
