Update : Body without left arm found in Diyawanna Oya

The body found without a left hand in Diyawanna Oya this morning has not been identified thus far.

The body has been sent to Kalubovila hospital for a post mortem.

In addition to this incident, several human body parts were found in different places in Colombo city last few days.

Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the bodies have been sent for DNA tests in order to find the identity of the victims.

Body found in Diyawanna Oya missing left hand

The Police found a body which was missing a left arm in Diyawanna Oya behind Parliament this morning.

According to police media spokesman’s office, a team of Mirihana Police officers are conducting an investigation.

The identity of the person has not been uncovered thus far.

Meanwhile, a left hand was found recently in a canal in Nawala area.

In addition, 2 severed legs were also discovered in a canal close to Siridhamma Mawatha on the 14th, while a charred torso of a person was found in a dump site on School Lane, Dematagoda yesterday.

Unidentified Body floats on Diyawanna Oya

A dead body of an unidentified individual floats on Diyawanna Oya, behind the Parliament; Police cordoned off the area, Police Spokesperson stated.
