Investigation on body parts found in Colombo

IGP N.K. Ilangakoon has directed senior police officers to hold a special investigation over the incident where human body parts were found in several areas of Colombo District.

The IGP instructed them regarding the matter during a meeting held in Colombo this morning.

Mystery surrounds after human body parts were found in the past few days within Colombo Urban areas.

A body with its left hand severed was found from Diyawanna Oya last morning.

In addition, human body parts were found at Siri Dhamma Mawatha in Dematagoda, Navala in Welikada and at Kalu Palama in Dematagoda during the past few days.

Police Media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that these human body parts have been sent for DNA tests to identify further details.

4 police teams have already started investigations in the areas where the body parts were found.
