With 26 SLFP MPs receiving Government Ministries yesterday, a problem has cropped up among many with regard to the Opposition’s scope within parliament.

Our news team inquired about this from the SLFP and several political parties representing the opposition in parliament in the current backdrop of several political parties of the UPFA including SLFP MPs occupying seats in the opposition in parliament.

The MEP which is a constituent of the UPFA condemned the acceptance of ministries in the new Government by SLFP MPs.

The JVP says that the current Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva has no moral right to hold that position now.

JVP propaganda secretary MP Vijitha Herath said that in coincidence with this situation a collapse of the SLFP occurs.

Democratic Left Front Leader Former Minister Wasudeva Nanayakkara said that the acceptance of ministries in a national government by SLFP MPs could not be considered the formation of a national Government.
