Kankesanthurai Police CI Arrested For Stealing Wallet At Bank

The officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Kankesanthurai Police training unit, Chief Inspector Kandayya Jeewan Kumara, has been taken into Police custody for allegedly stealing an individual’s wallet inside a Private bank in Batticaloa.

A resident of Eragama-Ampara had lodged a complaint with the police regarding the theft of his wallet at a private bank in Batticaloa.

The Batticalao police conducted an investigation in connection to the incident on the orders of the Batticalao Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The investigations conducted utilizing CCTV Cameras proved that the said police Chief Inspector was connected to the incident.

Accordingly he was arrested by the Batticalao police and remanded till the 5th after producing to the Batticalao judge M. Ganesha Raja.
