The elephant brought up by me was not held illegally, it was abandoned near my Viharaya, Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka said.

He made this statement at a press conference at Allenmathiniyaramaya in Narahenpita.

Last week the Attorney General (AG) named Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka as a suspect of keeping an elephant without a valid license.
